Current release-candidate code and integration tests verified the closed-beta eBay and Amazon Shopify handoff contracts. Separately, a real preexisting Shopify product was carried through merchant-configured Marketplace Connect to active eBay item 206411311707 on 2026-07-12. That verifies the external Shopify-to-SMC-to-eBay publication path, not a fully automated ArtDrop handoff run. No live Amazon seller pilot was performed. View the verified eBay listing.

What this does

Keep ArtDrop’s limited Shopify preparation separate from Marketplace Connect and marketplace-owned publication.

Before you begin

  • Install and configure Shopify Marketplace Connect, then connect a seller account approved for the intended marketplace and region.
  • Shopify currently offers new Marketplace Connect connections for Amazon, eBay, Walmart US, and Target Plus US. Existing Etsy connections can continue, but new Etsy connections are unavailable; Etsy is not a new ArtDrop destination.
  • The Stores panel records merchant-confirmed external status. It does not inspect Marketplace Connect or turn a channel on.

What changes outside ArtDrop

Saving the Stores checklist changes local ArtDrop metadata only. On a server-approved eBay or Amazon closed-beta route, approving an eligible reviewed drop can prepare its Shopify product for the merchant’s Marketplace Connect workflow. Marketplace Connect and the marketplace—not ArtDrop—then own mapping, listing creation, sync, acceptance, orders, and marketplace state.

Steps

  1. Configure externally first

    In Shopify Marketplace Connect, connect the approved seller account, map required attributes, set policies and pricing, choose inventory and order-import behavior, and verify a test listing. Do not enter marketplace secrets into the ArtDrop status checklist.

  2. Record status, not capability

    In Stores → Marketplace Connect status, confirm only facts the merchant checked in Shopify or the marketplace. The timestamps are merchant-confirmed and not independently verified by ArtDrop; they do not enable publication.

  3. Use closed-beta handoffs only when enabled

    For a server-approved store, Review & Publish can prepare an eligible reviewed Shopify product for an eBay or Amazon Marketplace Connect handoff. Passing pre-flight means the Shopify handoff is mechanically ready; it is not marketplace approval, legal clearance, or a created marketplace listing.

  4. Finish and verify in Marketplace Connect

    Link or list the Shopify product in Marketplace Connect, verify its mapping and destination settings, then inspect the live marketplace record. ArtDrop cannot observe or repair this private app state.

  5. Keep Amazon fulfillment manual

    The Amazon handoff has no live seller pilot and does not automate fulfillment. Any Amazon order that reaches Shopify through Marketplace Connect requires merchant review and manual fulfillment until shipping mappings are validated for that exact store.

  6. Treat Walmart and Target as status-only

    Walmart US and Target Plus US can be connected in Marketplace Connect, but ArtDrop provides no channel-specific preparation or direct publication for them. Their Stores entries are merchant-confirmed status records only.

  7. Keep Coming soon out of filters

    TikTok Shop and Pinterest commerce are Coming soon and are not active Marketplace Connect or store-connection filters.

Expected result

The Stores page shows clearly labeled merchant-confirmed status. An eligible eBay or Amazon beta release prepares Shopify handoff data only; the external channel remains the source of truth for installation, mapping, listing acceptance, sync, orders, and fulfillment state.

Limits and non-goals

  • ArtDrop publishes directly to Shopify, not to eBay, Amazon, Walmart US, or Target Plus US.
  • The server-approved eBay and Amazon closed betas prepare Shopify handoffs only. Walmart US and Target Plus US are status-only in ArtDrop.
  • The active eBay pilot proves Shopify Marketplace Connect can carry a configured Shopify product to eBay; the product predated the exact ArtDrop beta handoff, so it does not certify a fully automated ArtDrop-to-eBay run.
  • Amazon has no live seller pilot. Keep Amazon fulfillment manual until exact-store shipping mappings are validated.
  • A checked box, readiness tag, or passed pre-flight is not certification, marketplace approval, or evidence of a successful listing.
  • Existing Etsy connections are a Shopify grandfathering case, not a fifth new Marketplace Connect option or a new ArtDrop destination.

Troubleshooting

  • If an eBay or Amazon listing is missing, confirm the reviewed Shopify product and release tags first, then troubleshoot mapping and listing state in Marketplace Connect and the marketplace. The Stores checklist cannot repair external setup.
  • For Walmart US or Target Plus US, troubleshoot entirely in Shopify Marketplace Connect and the marketplace; ArtDrop has no channel-specific handoff to inspect.

How to undo or clean up

Clear local readiness metadata if it is stale. Disconnect or remove channels in the external system separately.
