What this does

Hold a supported Gelato v2 to Shopify drop before provider and storefront creation, inspect evidence, then approve or cancel it.

Before you begin

  • Review & Publish is off by default and must be enabled per store.
  • The route requires Shopify, Gelato v2 products, PostgreSQL, valid credentials, positive prices, and verified print profiles.

What changes outside ArtDrop

Before approval, ArtDrop may archive, upload, and analyze the source, but it does not perform provider or storefront creation for the supported Review route. Approve & release begins real external creation and publication.

Steps

  1. Confirm support and enable Review

    Open Review & Publish, select the store, and turn on Require review before publishing only when the page reports the route as supported.

  2. Verify print profiles

    Under Gelato print profiles, enter Width, Height, Bleed each edge, Minimum DPI, and Fit behavior, then choose Save verified profiles.

  3. Open a pending item

    Use Pending artwork filters, choose a Needs review item, and inspect Title, Description, Tags, Price, and Products.

  4. Resolve evidence

    Check Print fit, USPTO phrase evidence, Blockers and acknowledgements, and Audit history. Hard blockers cannot be overridden; acknowledge warnings only after review.

  5. Choose the explicit outcome

    Use Save changes for local edits, Cancel item to stop the pending row, or Approve & release to begin external writes. Use Retry only for a state the page marks safe.

Expected result

A released item advances through publishing to a recorded Shopify result, or stops in Needs attention with an auditable reason.

Limits and non-goals

  • Printful, Printify, legacy Gelato templates, Etsy, social, and Discord do not wait in this queue.
  • Phrase evidence is reproducible evidence, not trademark clearance or legal advice.
  • The page phrase “before anything leaves ArtDrop” should be read as before provider/store creation; external storage upload can happen earlier.

Troubleshooting

  • If evidence is missing or stale, do not approve. Refresh the evidence source or contact support.
  • If a provider create result is unknown, stop. Do not repeatedly click Retry; reconcile the external account first.

How to undo or clean up

Cancel item affects the local pending row and does not delete source art or any external object. After release, clean up provider and Shopify records in those services.
