Create products with Gelato

Use saved Gelato Studio templates or choose products from the Gelato catalog. Set variants, placement, and prices for future artwork drops.

Before you begin

  • Connect Gelato and the Shopify or Etsy store where you want to sell.
  • Use Studio templates for existing Gelato setups. Gelato V2 catalog products use Shopify.

How it works

ArtDrop creates products from your saved Gelato settings. For Gelato V2, it checks each variant’s connection before publishing the Shopify product.

Steps

  1. Choose a product setup

    Enter a Gelato Studio Template ID, or choose Add Gelato Product to select a V2 catalog product.

  2. Set variants and prices

    Choose the sizes, finishes, artwork placement, and retail prices you want. Save the product setup.

  3. Upload artwork

    Drop an image into ArtDrop and follow its progress in Live Log.

  4. Review the product

    Open the product in Gelato and Shopify or Etsy. If ArtDrop asks you to complete a Gelato connection, connect the variants in Shopify and publish the product when ready.

Expected result

Gelato has your product with the chosen artwork and variants. Connected products can publish to your selected storefront.

Good to know

  • Gelato V2 products use Shopify. For Etsy, use a Gelato Studio template connected to that Etsy shop.
  • The V2 picker shows the first 100 catalog products.
  • If a V2 variant connection cannot be confirmed, ArtDrop leaves the Shopify product unpublished for you to complete the connection.
  • Use Provider Cost Comparison to compare available base costs, then confirm the price for your chosen product and destination in Gelato.

Troubleshooting

  • A product is missing from the picker? Check the product in Gelato; the picker shows a limited catalog selection.
  • A Shopify product remains unpublished? Follow the connection instructions in ArtDrop, check all variants, and finish publishing in Shopify.

How to undo or clean up

Disable a saved product setup to stop using it. Remove unwanted products in Gelato and your storefront.
