What this does

The public Shopify App Store listing is pending. Connect the exact shop through the documented custom-app path, or use an app-managed install only when ArtDrop explicitly enables it for an approved test context.

Before you begin

  • Know the exact myshopify.com domain. Direct ArtDrop subscriptions are billed through Stripe today.
  • Use a Shopify account authorized to install or configure apps on that shop.

What changes outside ArtDrop

A custom-app token grants the configured Shopify scopes. An explicitly approved managed test install authorizes ArtDrop for that shop. General public App Store installation and Shopify-managed ArtDrop billing are not live today; never test either path against the wrong shop.

Steps

  1. Confirm the available path

    General self-service Shopify App Store installation is not live. Use a managed install only if ArtDrop explicitly enabled it for this approved test account; otherwise use the custom-app connection shown in Setup or Stores.

  2. Connect with custom credentials

    Follow the current custom-app instructions in the ArtDrop UI and provide the exact myshopify.com domain, required scopes, and token for this shop. Do not reuse a token or install link from another store.

  3. Test the connection

    Open Stores, find the exact shop, and choose Test connection. Resolve Needs attention before a drop.

  4. Respect the billing rail

    Direct ArtDrop subscriptions are managed through Stripe today. If the public Shopify App Store listing is later approved and enabled, a Shopify-installed session will manage its $39/month subscription through Shopify and each additional Shopify shop will install and subscribe separately.

Expected result

The store card reports healthy, the active-store selector shows the intended shop, and API calls are pinned to that verified connection.

Limits and non-goals

  • The public Shopify App Store listing is pending; general self-service installation is not live. Recheck that external state before changing this guide.
  • Additional Shopify destinations still require explicit provider destination mappings.

Troubleshooting

  • If OAuth returns to the wrong shop or account, stop and sign out; do not overwrite an existing connection.
  • For 401 errors, reconnect through the proven shop-owned path rather than pasting a token into an unrelated store.

How to undo or clean up

Removing the ArtDrop store record does not uninstall the app, revoke Shopify authorization, cancel Shopify billing, or delete products. Perform each external action in Shopify.
