Publish Etsy digital downloads and physical products

What this does

Etsy can complete first-run setup without Shopify. Etsy-only digital setup requires supported external storage and publishes directly through Etsy. Physical Etsy products use the artist's exact Etsy-connected Printify shop or Gelato store.

Before you begin

• For an Etsy-only digital first-run path, have the exact Etsy shop ready for OAuth and configure Backblaze B2, Cloudflare R2, Dropbox, or Google Drive.
• For a physical product, have your exact Printify shop or Gelato store already connected to that Etsy shop.

Steps

   Choose digital or physical

   Choose Etsy during first-run setup or add it later from Storefronts. Use the direct Etsy route for a digital download. For a physical product, choose the exact Etsy-connected Printify shop or Gelato store.

2. 02

   Connect the exact destination

   Authorize the Etsy shop used for digital downloads. For physical products, select the Printify shop or Gelato store already connected to that Etsy shop.

   Publish one product

   Start with one controlled product before sending a batch. Keep the artwork name and destination handy while the route runs.

4. 04

   Verify the exact result

   For digital, inspect the Etsy listing, preview, and buyer download. For physical, inspect both the provider product and the Etsy listing.

Expected result

Physical POD can create a provider product through the configured Etsy-connected Printify or Gelato destination. Direct digital can create an Etsy listing, preview, and buyer file. Inspect the exact results.

Good to know

• ArtDrop creates product and listing data only. It does not access Etsy orders, customers, payments, shipping, or fulfillment. It does not relay orders or provide checkout.
• Printful is provider-only in ArtDrop and is not an Etsy publication route.
• For a physical product, the chosen Printify shop or Gelato store must already be connected to the intended Etsy shop.
• Etsy limits a listing to 13 tags; ArtDrop also truncates each tag to 20 characters, the title to 140, and the description to 5,000.
• Etsy-only digital first-run setup requires a supported external storage service. The direct Etsy listing route then uses the prepared artwork file from that selected service.

Troubleshooting

• No physical result? Confirm the additional store and configured provider ID, verify its channel binding in Printify or Gelato, inspect the enabled template, and then inspect the actual Etsy state.
• No digital listing? Confirm the exact Etsy destination and its authorization, then retry one controlled product. Inspect Etsy before retrying again.

How to undo or clean up

Disable the ArtDrop target to stop future attempts. Remove a provider product and Etsy listing separately in the external services that own them. Revoke Etsy and provider credentials at their issuers.
