ArtDrop vs.
Manual POD Listing

Every step, side by side. Manual POD listing done right takes 45-60 minutes per artwork. ArtDrop takes 5. Here is exactly where the time goes, and where it disappears.

The full workflow, compared

Seven steps per artwork, times however many product types you sell. Here is how each one plays out manually versus with print on demand automation.

Step Manual ArtDrop
01, Upload image Open Gelato → Products → New product → Upload. Repeat for every provider you use. Drop the file into ArtDrop, or paste it straight from your clipboard with Cmd+V. ArtDrop reads the image and EXIF data automatically.
One drop, all providers
02, Write title Think of a title that describes the piece, is SEO-friendly, and fits character limits. Type it for every product format. ArtDrop analyzes the actual image and generates a specific title, not a template, not a placeholder.
Image-aware, not generic
03, Write description Write 100+ words of product copy. Unique for each format. SEO-relevant. Done at speed, this is usually the worst copy on your store. ArtDrop writes in your trained voice. Descriptions are specific to the artwork, not copy-pasted boilerplate.
Voice-trained output
04, SEO tags Research keywords, figure out which ones apply to this piece, add them manually to Shopify tags and metafields. Tags are auto-generated from what is actually in the artwork. Subject matter, style, color palette, mood.
Auto from image content
05, Create variants Select sizes one by one. Set pricing per variant. Check that every size-and-frame combination is configured. Easy to miss one. All configured product templates fire automatically. Every variant, every size, every format, from a single drop.
Template-driven, nothing missed
06, Publish the listing Copy the content into Shopify by hand. Add metafields, assign collections, then double-check that every field actually saved. Published to your connected store with the title, description, tags, metafields, and collections already filled in.
Publishes to Shopify and Etsy
07, Do it again for every store Start over in Etsy. A different editor, a 13-tag limit, and separate uploads for every shop you run. One drop routes to the store and product line you picked, on Shopify or Etsy. Run multiple stores, each with its own trained voice.
Multi-store, one drop
08, Where it runs Any device by hand, but the bulk tools built to speed this up are mostly desktop Chrome extensions, and Apple does not allow desktop browser extensions on iPad. That whole class of tool cannot run on a tablet. A hosted web app. Runs on iPad, phone, or desktop in a supported browser, with nothing to install. Draw in Procreate, export, and publish from the same tablet.

Total time

~5 min

One artwork. Seven manual steps. Multiply by every product type, every provider, every store, every piece you have ever made. That is the wall print on demand automation removes.

Subscription stack vs.
one-time price

Most POD sellers piece together three or four SaaS tools to cover what ArtDrop does end-to-end. Here is what that stack actually costs.

Manual toolstack, Monthly
Generic copy generators (Jasper, Copy.ai, etc.) $49/mo
Bulk listing / drip scheduler app $18/mo
SEO keyword tool (Ubersuggest, etc.) $29/mo
Shopify bulk editor / metafield app $15/mo
Your time (5 hrs/artwork × $20/hr est.) ~$100/artwork
SaaS alone
$111/mo
+ $1,332/year, forever

None of these tools talk to each other. You still do all the steps, just slightly faster. And the subscriptions never stop.

Automation that does not
take over

Print on demand automation gets a bad reputation because most tools run on their servers, behind their accounts, under their terms. ArtDrop is different by design.

Your credentials are always yours
The native Mac app stores everything on your machine, your Shopify credentials, your Gelato API key, your copy engine key, all local, nothing through our servers. The hosted web app ($39/mo) keeps those same credentials encrypted server-side so drops run automatically in your browser. Either way, your keys are only ever used to run your own drops. We never sell or share them.
ArtDrop never touches your orders or customers
ArtDrop only creates products and listings. It never reads or manages your orders, your customers, or your revenue. Those stay entirely between your store and your print provider. Your sales data is yours, and ArtDrop has no reason to see it.
You choose which providers to use
ArtDrop connects to Gelato, Printful, and Printify. You decide which ones to activate and in which order. You are not locked into a provider relationship through us, you keep your own accounts, your own contracts, your own pricing.
