- Admission, companion, transparency, and print-fit contracts were verified; results still depend on the selected provider product.
What this does
Use a supported source, preserve print quality, and make filename and transparency behavior predictable.
Before you begin
- Keep the original artwork and a separate backup outside ArtDrop.
- Know the intended print size, provider template, color expectations, and destination store.
What changes outside ArtDrop
Preparing files locally has no external effect. Uploading them through a normal Drop Zone flow can immediately create provider and storefront records.
Steps
-
Choose a supported source
Use TIF/TIFF, PNG, or JPG/JPEG. One supported source can be enough because ArtDrop can derive a missing print or preview companion where that path supports it.
-
Check real print resolution
Compare pixel dimensions with the configured print size and minimum DPI. Do not rely on filename DPI or automatic upscaling.
-
Review color and transparency
Export in the profile expected by the provider. ArtDrop repairs known black-flattening transparency cases, but that is not a promise of perfect correction for every image.
-
Use a safe filename
Keep the filename short, unique, descriptive, and under the 180-character admission ceiling. Avoid hidden files and path characters.
-
Run a small proof
Drop one file, inspect the mockup/print fit and live listing, then correct the source before processing the rest of a collection.
Expected result
The file is admitted once, its preview is recognizable, and the selected product reports acceptable print-fit evidence.
Limits and non-goals
- Browser, proxy, memory, storage, and provider limits can be lower than the admission code ceiling.
- ArtDrop does not guarantee color matching between every display, printer, substrate, and profile.
Troubleshooting
- If admission rejects the file, shorten the name, confirm its extension and integrity, and retry one file.
- If print fit blocks Review, change the source or verified profile; do not acknowledge a hard blocker.
How to undo or clean up
Delete only unwanted copies or external products. Keep the original source and independent backup.
