Production UI and the normal Gelato v2 to Shopify drop path were verified. Other provider writes retain the limits in their guides.

What this does

Make the four setup decisions, verify the intended destination, then send one finished artwork through the real pipeline.

Before you begin

  • Have a Shopify destination and at least one supported print-provider account ready.
  • Choose where providers can fetch the print file and whether Copy Engine or supplied copy will be used.
  • Use a small, non-sensitive test artwork and expect a normal drop to create real external products.

What changes outside ArtDrop

A normal Drop Zone upload can create provider products and Shopify listings. The three-drop demo uses connected accounts and is not a sandbox.

Steps

  1. Run the preflight

Open Setup, review Before you begin, then choose I’m ready - let’s go →.

  2. Connect the storefront

The public Shopify App Store listing is pending. In 1 Storefront, follow the connection path shown for your account—normally the documented custom-app token path unless ArtDrop explicitly enabled an approved test install. Confirm the exact shop before continuing.

  3. Choose storage and printers

In 2 Storage, select Shopify Files/POD routing, B2, R2, Dropbox, or Google Drive. In 3 Printers, connect Gelato, Printful, or Printify and configure products and prices.

  4. Configure copy

In 4 Copy, turn generated copy on or off, review credits or a personal key, and set voice, rules, sheet behavior, and EXIF handling.

  5. Drop one file

Finish setup, return to Drop Zone, confirm Dropping to: and the product line, then upload one TIF, PNG, or JPG. The worker starts automatically when durable work exists.

  6. Verify the result

Watch Live Log and Needs Attention, then inspect the provider and Shopify record before dropping a larger batch.

Expected result

The log identifies the selected store, completed stages, and either a recorded publication or an actionable failure.

Limits and non-goals

  • The wizard has four tabs: Storefront, Storage, Printers, and Copy. There is no Social setup step.
  • Connection checks confirm credentials at that moment; they cannot guarantee provider uptime or marketplace approval.

Troubleshooting

  • If the destination badge is wrong, stop before uploading and switch stores in Stores.
  • If a provider fetch fails, check the storage URL and use the storage troubleshooting guide.
  • Do not repeat a create request with an unknown outcome. Save the exact error and contact support.

How to undo or clean up

Remove unwanted test products in the provider and Shopify. ArtDrop cannot perform a single local undo for objects already created outside ArtDrop.
